To hell with where YOU are, Fred, where is the pickle recipe??? I have lost it and the cucumbers are driving me nuts by producing. I can’t believe you made it to Puebla and did not make it to Colonial Oaxaca, my probably favorite place in Mexico. Sounds like you are having a great adventure, but when I saw the mileage on “Ernie” I felt a pang of concern. You are brave.

I had a great time at Nori’s dad’s birthday. How impressive to see that 80-year-old lovely man perform the dance he did in his elegant Japanese outfit. Such strength as he not only has, but displayed. It is hard for this guy of 78 to believe he is so “with” life and living. We missed you, or I did.

I have just been visited by my red-state Kansas nephew and his wife. It was interesting, had moments of real enjoyment, and some wonderful meals (Paley’s and Ringside among others). They saw tourist things and a lot of non-tourist things and seemed interested in all of it an Portland. I hope I carved away of their conservative thought, but who knows? Anyway, two days later I am still resting and recovering for the last three days of activity.

Continue having the adventure you are having. What a guy! Nelson.

  15. hey fred: so, let’s see, 2007, and now it is 2009…where are you, and what are you doing?
